A PhD program is not only about content, but also about the relationships in which you bring that content to life. Sooner or later, you get stuck in a negotiation — with a supervisor, a fellow PhD candidate or an external partner. In this training you will first discover your own negotiation style, then practice with ‘positional negotiation’ and, most important, learn to master the win-win approach of the Harvard Negotiation Method.
The focus is not on theory, but on experiencing: In simulations you practice with situations that are close to your own PhD practice, such as the conversation with your supervisor or a triangular negotiation with supervisor and promotor. In this course, we also work with a professional training actor — for even more direct feedback on your own negotiation behavior.
The session with the actors was incredibly valuable to immediately put everything you learned into practice.
Highly interactive — educational discussions and direct feedback on your own negotiation style.

Some PhD candidates feel stuck in one line of thought. Others are overwhelmed by ideas and do not know how to find focus. This training teaches you to master both sides of the creative process: diverging and converging.
You will learn how to activate specific neural networks in your brain for each phase, build a practical toolbox of creative techniques, and discover how to deal with your inner critic. You apply everything directly to your own scientific or personal challenge.
Our trainers were fantastic — a treasure trove of knowledge and at the same time very modest.
Very interactive, with many examples to practice the concepts you learn directly.

How do you ensure that you flourish? And how do you help others — a student you supervise, a colleague — to do the same? These two questions are closely related.
In this course you first increase your self-awareness and then work on your ‘leadership intelligence’, using the Birkman report as a compass: a validated self-assessment that clearly shows your interests, strengths, needs and stress behaviour.
The trainer was very open and provided a safe environment to share personal experiences.
Thanks to the Birkman report, I understand myself and the people I counsel a lot better.
